European Commision President Ursula von der Leyen conveyed Europe’s support to Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey for the devastating floods they are experiencing, in a tweet on Thursday.

In her post, von der Leyen said, “Europe is by the side of the people affected by devastating floods in Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey. We stand ready to activate our EU Civil Protection Mechanism. I conveyed to PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis our strong European solidarity. We are in contact with the Greek authorities to mobilise support.”
