Gerapetritis, Kerameus hold teleconference with diplomatic and consular authorities ahead of EU elections

More specifically, the expatriate Greeks who have registered on the platform exceed 30,000, a higher number than the Greeks abroad who exercised their right to vote in the 2023 parliamentary elections.

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and Interior Minister Niki Kerameus held a teleconference with the heads of diplomatic and consular authorities of Greece abroad regarding the postal vote in the upcoming European elections.

The two ministers thanked the ambassadors and consuls for their contribution to this new electoral process through the provision of information and support to expatriate Greeks for their registration on the postal vote platform epistoliki.ypes.gov.gr.

At the same time, they proposed ways to further strengthen the assistance of diplomatic and consular authorities to Greek voters abroad. In addition, they highlighted the momentum of registrations on the postal voting platform, noting that, in just two months of operation, more than 100,000 voters in Greece and abroad, in 115 different countries around the world, have been registered.

It should be pointed out that Greek residing abroad can only exercise their right to vote in the upcoming European elections through a postal vote.
