All services of the Municipality of Athens have been put on high alert due to the very high temperatures expected to prevail. Taking into account the measures foreseen in alert situations, such as the one in force on Wednesday in Attica (Risk Category 5), the Lycabettus hill will remain closed for any activity until further notice. The curfew on the hill will take effect at Tuesday midnight.
From Wednesday and as long as the high temperatures persist, the seven Friendship Clubs of the municipality will operate as air-conditioned spaces open to the public from 9:00 until 21:00

In addition, 100 watering troughs have been placed in various parts of the city of Athens for stray animals. Citizens are asked to help so that they remain filled with fresh, cool water.
Additionally, citizens, and especially those belonging to vulnerable groups, can contact the 24-hour Citizen Service Line 1595 or the “Heatwave line” of the Municipal Clinics (210 3638049), daily, 24 hours a day, to receive advice and guidance on how to deal with heat-related health problems.
