Adonis Georgiadis: The Real US “Fiasco” and the Calm That Makes the Difference

Adonis Georgiadis made it perfectly clear what really happened in the US in recent weeks. As he stated:“The fiasco was enormous… but not for Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The fiasco was for Erdogan!”

The Turkish President traveled to the US requesting upgraded F16 Vipers, new F35 jets, and support in his conflict with Israel, which he accuses of genocide. Yet he returned to Turkey without achieving any of his objectives. As Adonis pointed out:“He returned to Turkey, after receiving genuine praise from President Trump, and had absolutely nothing to show for any of the issues he was pursuing.”

Even more striking, Erdogan was forced to accept President Trump’s plan for the Middle East, which directly contradicts his previous stance on Gaza. Adonis noted sharply:“It completely sidelines Hamas, or if Hamas does not compromise, it leaves them at the mercy of Israel, now even with Turkey’s apology…”

Additionally, Erdogan had to declare that, in order to advance issues with the US, he would stop buying Russian oil—putting him at odds with Russia and undermining Turkey’s economic advantage. Adonis commented:“If he does this, he loses his country’s greatest economic advantage and sets himself against Russia. If he doesn’t, then all of his US demands are rejected… great success.”

Adonis reminds us that foreign policy requires calm and strategy, not loud theatrics:“Foreign policy requires method and composure. Not shouting and flashy gestures.”

And he concludes with the stark truth we should all consider:“Instead of criticizing Mitsotakis and Gerapetritis all day, can you imagine what we would say if we were Turkish citizens observing our President’s US trip?”

In this context, Adonis Georgiadis’ statements illuminate the real dimension of the events: Greece is moving with seriousness, calm, and strategy, while others fail in the face of their own grand ambitions.
