With strong tones and direct attacks on both the government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis took to the Parliament floor to unleash blistering criticism over what he called the failure of Greece’s foreign policy.
Androulakis did not hesitate to say that Mitsotakis is “further right than Donald Trump,” specifically referring to the Prime Minister’s stance on the Palestinian issue. He described Greece’s strategic alignment with Israel as a “disgrace to our history and the Greek people.”
According to Androulakis, Greek diplomacy is in complete stagnation and in its “worst condition in years,” accusing the government of “dangerous amateurism,” as evidenced by the cancellation of the Mitsotakis-Erdogan meeting in New York.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also criticized, with Androulakis blaming Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis for lack of initiative and ineffectiveness.

He cited PASOK’s strategic relationship with Israel initiated after 2010 but stressed this cannot equate to “unilateral alignment with the butcher Netanyahu,” as he called the Israeli Prime Minister, urging for a more balanced and just approach to the Palestinian issue.
“Do you realize, Mr. Prime Minister, how disastrous this approach is?” he questioned, condemning government officials who reject recognition of the International Court of Justice, which investigates war crimes in Israel.
In the same harsh tone, Androulakis criticized the government’s handling of Greco-Turkish relations, emphasizing the need for a “new Helsinki,” similar to the 1999 framework that brought stability and peace to the region.
“Turkey has no place in the European defense architecture,” the PASOK leader declared, accusing the government of confusing its internal party disputes with the stance it must take against the Turkish threat.
At the same time, he sharply attacked European leaders, saying they act as a “silent backdrop to the American president, selectively deciding whom to support and whom to ignore,” failing to condemn Turkish revisionism as they do Russian aggression.
Nikos Androulakis’s speech was a scathing indictment of the government’s failures on all foreign policy fronts—from Israel and Palestine to Libya and the EU—with a strong tone of concern for the country’s future in a rapidly changing global reality.
