Afroditi LatinoPoulou, president of the Voice of Reason party, spoke on SKAI TV with a series of explosive statements regarding education, national identity, and Greece’s future.
Commenting on teachers who allegedly propose abolishing national holidays, LatinoPoulou said:“They don’t like Greece. They are like vampires—you throw holy water at them and they recoil when they see the Greek flag. If they don’t like it, they should go to Gaza, Pakistan, or Afghanistan!”
On the controversial question “Mitsotakis or chaos”, she called it a ‘pseudo-dilemma’ and a ‘communication trick’, firmly ruling out any post-election collaboration with the New Democracy party.“We are a center-right party. Mitsotakis has not made any national effort. We are talking about the big picture; we will not sit here picking apart the thousands of small actions happening every day. After seven years of governance, there are no excuses,” she declared.
LatinoPoulou emphasized that Greece could turn a page only through a return to law, order, and the protection of national values, namely: patriotism, religion, and family.“We want to secure double-digit support in the next Parliament. I firmly believe we will be there to represent the voice of the people,” she added.
Her attacks extended to protesters supporting Palestine, whom she labeled as supporters of Hamas: “If they don’t know, they should read a book. They have an allergy to Greece. It is like throwing holy water at vampires—they have never even touched the Greek flag in their lives. If they don’t like it, let them go to Gaza, Pakistan, or Afghanistan, places where people wear veils,” she said.
Latino Poulou repeatedly returned to the theme of national pride:“Long live Greece, long live the Nation, long live Metaxas. What do you want me to say, long live EAM?”
Regarding teachers who challenge national traditions, she was unforgiving:“You cannot disrespect the Greek flag. You cannot be paid by our taxes and then teach children to abolish national holidays. These teachers are trash—they should have been fired yesterday!”
She criticized the disruption caused in parliamentary debates, mentioning the abuse of speaking time and disorderly conduct: “Former presidents of Parliament had the right to speak at will. But now, some use their time to attack colleagues instead of discussing bills. This is unacceptable in our schools and in our democracy,” she said.
Latino Poulou made clear her party’s commitment to education: “In our schools, there will be no indoctrination, no communist or socialist nurseries. Schools will teach national history and nothing else. Children must learn the values of our nation,” she declared.
In conclusion, Latino Poulou framed her party’s mission as one of restoring respect, order, and patriotism to Greece, pledging to defend national symbols and traditions, enforce accountability, and resist foreign or ideological influences undermining the country.
