Greece backs the European Commission proposal to impose customs duties on small imports, strengthening European businesses and e-commerce transparency.

Greece supports abolishing the duty exemption for low-value packages.Minister of Digital Governance and Finance,Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated from Brussels that Greecefully supports the European Commission’s proposalto tax packages valued under €150, which mostly come from China.

“Greece fully supports abolishing the minimum €150 threshold, allowing duties to be applied to low-value parcels from third countries,” Pierrakakis emphasized.

Most of these parcels come from e-commerce platforms likeShein and Temu, and the Commission proposed a€2 handling fee per package.
