U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, spoke at an event organized by the American-Hellenic Institute (AHI), providing a comprehensive overview of the first year since Donald Trump’s re-election and the state of Greek-American relations. The event, hosted by Dora Bakoyannis, highlighted the strategic partnership between Greece and the U.S. in energy, defense, and regional stability.

• Energy Agreements: She highlighted a 20-year agreement for the delivery of U.S. LNG to Southeastern and Central Europe via Greece and the upcoming Greece-Ukraine LNG supply agreement, set to begin next month.
• Defense Cooperation: Guilfoyle noted that Greece is considered a “cornerstone of stability” in the Eastern Mediterranean, with support from U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

During a panel discussion with Dora Bakoyannis, Konstantinos Filis, and Christos Marafatsos, Bakoyannis described Trump’s second term as “a year of commitment,” emphasizing that these agreements and initiatives provide long-term strategic advantages for Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean.
