A section of the iconic dolphin fresco at the Knossos Palace, a cornerstone of Minoan heritage, collapsed unexpectedly on Friday morning, sparking widespread outrage over the site’s long-standing neglect.
The company emphasized that no images of the Acropolis were used for advertising or other purposes. “The event complied fully with the approved permits, and the drone flight was limited to the Zappeion site,” Adidas stated.
Widely circulated images on social media, reportedly shot on Thursday evening, showed illuminated drones forming the Adidas logo and a sports shoe hovering above the ancient citadel.
