Athens Pushes for an EU “Emergency Migration Mechanism” — Mitsotakis Plan Moves to Brussels
Greece is seeking to turn its proposal for a special EU emergency framework on mass and “instrumentalised” migration into a formal European policy tool. Migration Minister Thanos Plevris is expected to present the plan at the next EU Home Affairs Council, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has now placed a new emergency framework for organised or weaponised migration flows on the EU agenda.
