The Greek Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy has announced a series of urgent and coordinated actions to protect Greek-owned vessels and seafarers, following a sharp escalation in Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.

The first fishing boat, carrying 352 people, was spotted overnight about 30 nautical miles (35 miles, 55 kilometers) south of the tiny island of Gavdos, the coast guard said. The repairs reportedly involve damage to the outer wall of two storage rooms and a maintenance room. Additionally, external damage was sustained to a rope-handling area, the stern, and the platform above one of the storage compartments.
