Greece bolstered its drive for a greener economy with the launch of a €2 Billion Decarbonization Fund for the Greek islands
Officials on the popular island of Rhodes have opened a new visa terminal for Turkish visitors as part of a diplomatic effort to ease long-standing tensions between the two cuntries.
But the plan has irked Greece’s neighbor and regional rival, Turkey, while environmental organizations say the initiative doesn’t go far enough, noting that the country also allows environmentally harmful practices such as energy exploration in sensitive marine environments.

The flame will travel from Crete to Alexandroupoli and from Corfu to Kastellorizo and will pass through 13 regions, seven Islands, 43 cities, 41 municipalities, five communities, 10 archaeological sites and two Olympic museums (Athens and Thessaloniki).
This increase in arrivals coincides with the celebration of Seker Bayram, a Muslim festival observed from April 6th to April 14th. Nearly 1,000 visitors are expected to utilize the visa express during this period.
