Cyprus and Israel have signed a bilateral defence cooperation programme between the national guard and the armed forces of Israel (IDF) in Tel Aviv, as well as a corresponding tripartite programme with the Greek defence forces for 2023.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said on Tuesday in joint statements with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen that Greece and Israel have forged an enduring partnership at a strategic level, which is based on their common interests and converging perspectives on many challenges.
Greece and Israel are strategic partners, Katz pointed out.
In August, Israel and Turkey announced the restoration of full diplomatic relations following a years-long rift.
Israeli defense contractor Elbit, which finalized a $1.65 billion deal with Greece’s government assisted by Israel last year will help run the facility located on an air force base.
