Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reiterated on Saturday the obligation of North Macedonia’s officials to use the country’s constitutional name in every use, as dictated in a 2018 UN-brokered agreement between Athens and Skopje
Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis was asked about the latest developments in North Macedonia during joint statements with his Czech counterpart Jan Lipavský
“I had warned with a clear statement the new government in Skopje that any deviation from the implementation of the agreement is sure to have serious consequences for our relations with North Macedonia and also for the country’s European path,” he added.
"We keep the channels of communication with Turkiye open, without deviating from our fixed national positions," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday, in an interview with Skai TV.
At the heart of the "Choose France Summit" was the discussion surrounding the production of lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, crucial for the green transition and storage of renewable energy.
At the same time, Gerapetritis underlined that the "Prespa Agreement" will be tabled in Parliament for ratification as soon as Greece is convinced that the neighbouring country fully complies with its international commitments, noting that his wish is for this to happen during his tenure.
