In the first three months of 2025, food exports soared by 13.8%, contributing an additional €273.2 million to Greece’s export revenue. The total value reached €2.252 billion, up from €1.979 billion in the same period last year. This growth outpaced all other sectors, with only the smaller “beverages and tobacco” category slightly ahead at 14.2%.
"Our basic priority as always is to fight high prices, and every one of our initiatives begins with this target in mind. However, there is no single measure to achieve this, but it requires a coordination and combination of measures," the minister said.
The locally produced blend combines conventional marine fuel with a second-generation biofuel derived from recycled used cooking oils. The innovation, created by Motor Oil’s subsidiary Verd, is fully compliant with the new ISO 8217:2024 standards and is credited with reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 21%.

Average inflation in the eurozone settled at 2.2%, compared to 2.3% in February. The high prices in Greece highlight the ongoing cost-of-living pressures in the country.
According to Mercan Group’s official announcements, the project has already entered the commercialization phase. The residential units will be marketed under the Golden Visa scheme, with prices starting at 250,000 euros, allowing investors to take advantage of recent legislative changes.
