At the 2025 economic conference of Wirtschaftsrat Deutschland in Berlin, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke, receiving the “Ludwig Erhard” award for Greece’s economic recovery.
According to the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, this payment request related to the fulfillment of 32 milestones and targets—29 under the grant component and three under the loan component of the plan. As a result, Greece has now completed 139 milestones, or more than 35% of its overall target of 394, placing it well above the EU-27 average of 29%.
Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson, Pavlos Marinakis, after presenting the difficulties that Greece had to face in the last decade, referred to the current improved situation.
The rating agency Fitch has upgraded Greek banks, citing improved credit profiles, strong profitability, and reduced non-performing exposures (NPEs), while also forecasting Greece’s continued economic outperformance compared to the Eurozone

American visitors proved the biggest spenders, pouring €40.9 million into the economy—€5.4 million more than their German counterparts. The strong showing from these key markets underscores Greece’s enduring appeal as a top global destination.
