Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who visited Thessaloniki on Monday, underlined that he wants to focus on the issues of northwestern Thessaloniki, where there are six municipalities that show the greatest population growth and whose inhabitants are not "children of a lesser God"

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who visited Thessaloniki on Monday, underlined that he wants to focus on the issues of northwestern Thessaloniki, where there are six municipalities that show the greatest population growth and whose inhabitants are not “children of a lesser God”. For this reason, the premier added, he will present an overall plan with interventions for the area. These include:

– The new Oncology Hospital

– The construction of 10 new model school units in municipalities of western Thessaloniki

– The extension of the suburban railway to western Thessaloniki

– Cultural spaces operating in western Thessaloniki

– The Metropolitan Park of Pavlos Melas

– The utilisation of the “Ziaka” camp for the implementation of a model social housing programme.

The prime minister visited the National Center for Research and Technological Development, which he said “is often assessed as the best research center in the country, where very serious competitive applied research is carried out, and it reflects the country’s image of innovation and extroversion.”

Regarding the Metro, he said that it will be ready in the first months of 2024 and pledged that its extension to the west will proceed.
