Basketball World Cup: Greece in the same group as the USA, New Zealand and Jordan

Greece is in the same group as the USA, New Zealand and Jordan at the Basketball World Cup which will be hosted in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines from August 25 to September 10, 2023.

The basketball mad country will play their group games in Manila (Philippines) and are favourites to finish in the top two to advance to the round of 16. There, 4 groups of 4 teams will be formed with the teams transferring their points.

Greece will play the Americans again. We remember all the way back in 2006 they had beaten them in the semi-final of the World Cup in Japan and had qualified for the final. However, they lost to Spain and won the silver medal instead.

Greece also played with the USA in 1994 in Canada but lost in the semi-final. We remind you that Greece has announced a friendly game against the USA on 8/18 in Abu Dhabi.

The 4 groups of the A’ phase will be hosted in Manila (Philippines). The 5th and 6th in Okinawa (Japan) and the last two in Jakarta (Indonesia).
