Earlier this week opposition parties had criticized the government for the long waiting times.

A new online platform that will put an end to long queues outside the Athens and Piraeus offices of the Hellenic Cadastre, where property owners await their turn to settle ownership issues, will go live on Monday, August 28, it was reported on Saturday.

The online service will first verify the person’s details before digitally issuing a priority number for the person to monitor the service process from a mobile phone so that he/she does not have to wait in line, facilitating the flexibility for one to arrive only a few minutes before one’s turn.

Earlier this week opposition parties had criticized the government for the long waiting times.

In a statement related to the Cadastre on Thursday, the e-Governance ministry noted that 70% of all Cadastre entries relate to property contracts, which as of July 25 can be uploaded online by property owners themselves (at ktimatologio.gov.gr) or with the help of bar and notary associations.

The Hellenic Cadastre was set up to register property in Greece and to facilitate transfer of ownership. As of 2021, it is supervised by the Ministry of Digital Governance.
