The benefits of upgrading the Ano Liossia-Megara suburban railway line were presented to the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Production & Trade by Transport & Infrastructure Minister Christos Staikouras and Deputy Minister Christina Alexopoulou on Tuesday.
Staikouras noted that the project concerns the construction of a new suburban railway line segment from Ano Liossia to Megara within the existing old railway line corridor to the Peloponnese.
The 34.6km line will service Aspropirgos, Elefsina, Nea Peramos and Megara, facilitating better interconnection among western Attica residents, and also be servicing ELPE plants in both Aspropirgos and Elefsina, noted the minister.
“It is proven yet again that construction projects that are financed by the Recovery & Resilience Fund relate to the many people who are financially vulnerable,” Staikouras stressed.
