Ianos and Greek Prime Minister Honor Elite Naval Unit with 300 Exclusive Dive Watches

Greek independent watchmaker Ianos has delivered 300 custom-designed titanium dive watches, named the Ianos OYK, to the Greek Navy’s elite Underwater Demolitions Teams (O.Y.K.).

These watches, boasting 300 meters of water resistance, fixed lugs, and a 120-click countdown bezel, are built for the unit’s demanding missions. Featuring O.Y.K. insignia on the dial and caseback, these watches are exclusive to the unit and will not be sold to the public, making them a unique tribute to current and future O.Y.K. members.

Unlike typical MIL-SPEC watches issued as standard kit and later coveted on the secondary market, the Ianos OYK serves as both a functional tool and a commemorative piece. In a heartfelt ceremony, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, a known watch enthusiast often seen wearing a Night Surfer or, at this event, an Hermès H08, presented the first batch to O.Y.K. members. He described the watches as “a small but tangible expression of gratitude” for the elite unit’s critical and challenging work, highlighting the rigorous training required to join.

This milestone marks Ianos as the first Greek brand to supply watches to the Greek armed forces, a proud moment for its founders.
