Hellenic Ports Association Upgrades Helpdesk Service with AI Capabilities

Hellenic Ports Association Upgrades Helpdesk Service with AI Capabilities
ELIME modernizes its support system to enhance member services and strengthen Greece’s national port network

The Hellenic Ports Association (ELIME) has proceeded with a significant upgrade of its Helpdesk service, now also accessible through its official website www.elime.gr, as part of its strategic goal to better support its members and enhance the functionality of the national port system.

According to an official statement, the revamped Helpdesk platform includes the codification of legislation related to Port Funds, while future plans involve the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to facilitate faster and more efficient access to information and support services for member organizations.

This upgrade positions the Helpdesk as a central reference point for the daily operations and strategic development of Greek ports, fostering national coordination and the exchange of best practices.

The platform offers:

  • Best practice guidelines
  • Recommendations for process optimization
  • Clarifications on operational and administrative matters

All of which contribute to uniformity, transparency, and efficiency in the functioning of member ports.

Structured and Immediate Support Since July 2024

Operating since July 2024, the Helpdesk has already become a valuable tool for ELIME members, offering immediate and well-documented support in key areas such as:

  • Implementation of institutional and legal frameworks
  • Interpretation of laws, ministerial decisions, and circulars
  • Administrative processes, concessions, licensing, etc.

Members can now submit support requests directly via ELIME’s website, with each request receiving a unique reference number and being processed with priority. In more complex cases, personalized support is provided.

Expanding Membership and Strengthening the Role of ELIME

ELIME aims to increase its membership, enabling all ports in Greece to benefit from the enhanced Helpdesk services.

The Hellenic Ports Association (ELIME) is a non-profit civil company, whose mission is to coordinate the activities of its members, promote a unified port policy, and help create competitive and resilient port service enterprises.

Its membership currently includes:

  • 13 Port Authorities operating as Societes Anonymes (S.A.)
  • 25 Port Funds (Legal Entities under Public Law)

Its main focus is the promotion and management of port-related issues within the framework of Greek, European, and international legislation, with a broader goal to support the growth of the national port industry and transport sector.
