Mitsotakis Hosts U.S. Congressional Delegation – ‘Relations at an All-Time High’

In a clear demonstration of strengthening strategic ties between Greece and the United States, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed a U.S. Congressional delegation led by Senator Jerry Moran at the Maximos Mansion. Mitsotakis described Greek‑U.S. relations as “at an all-time high,” highlighting their importance for security, energy, and investment cooperation.

The meeting, held Friday morning at Maximos, focused on a broad international and geopolitical agenda, exchanging views on both bilateral collaboration and regional developments in Ukraine and the Middle East. Key topics included energy, defense, investments, and technology, with Mitsotakis emphasizing Greece’s role as a stability and energy hub in Southeastern Europe.

During the discussions, Mitsotakis noted that the U.S. delegation’s visit comes at a critical moment, as Greece emerges as a key energy corridor—highlighting projects like the “Vertical Corridor” which supports regional gas supply and strengthens U.S.-Greece cooperation. Senator Moran acknowledged the importance of continued collaboration, emphasizing that the ties are “strong and meaningful” both militarily and economically.

The meeting also included U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, along with senior Greek officials, including Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and Secretary General for National Security Thanos Dokos.
