In a significant move, Greece recently enacted a new law aimed at modernising its military education system and enhancing its technological capabilities, based on the Finnish military model.
The minister said that authorities are on alert about Pinios river in Larissa, also in central Greece, whose overflooding already affected the village of Yiannouli and the town of Tyrnavos. Sections of Larissa were also flooded. Kikilias said that flooding phenomena may become more intense.
During EAM Jaishankar's 2021 visit, a Framework Agreement on the International Solar Alliance was signed, reflecting both nations' commitment to sustainable development. This agreement was subsequently ratified by the Greek Parliament in March 2022, reaffirming the tangible progress made.
The report, to be filed within two months of the final bill (NDAA) signing, will include an analysis of potential additional bases or expanded US military presence in the Hellenic Republic, particularly on the Greek islands.
