Brussels is reaching again for the tools that helped Europe survive the 2022 gas crisis — storage, demand restraint and coordinated action. But this time the shock is broader: Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb, constrained LNG supply and, above all, a diesel market already under severe pressure.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Greece, traditionally a net energy importer, has become a net exporter of natural gas. In the last six months, its natural gas exports have more than tripled compared to 2021.

Natural Gas: Due to the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis, Greece will accelerate gas exploration, with the first drilling to be done by 2025.
Referring to his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Sunday, Mitsotakis said the meeting "is necessary, because we face common challenges."
