A staggering one in four Greeks faces the risk of poverty, with children, women, and single-parent families most vulnerable, according to a revealing 2024 survey by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
The official act establishing it was published today, following an initiative by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other competent ministries.
“It was the news we were all waiting for,” said Lydia Karra, president of the Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (Ellet). “Finally, action is being taken.”
Specifically, the 65 km of the road section Pyrgos – Alissos, is scheduled to be completed on July 31, 2025, and to be immediately put into use and operation. The remaining road section Alissos – Midilogli, 10 km long, is scheduled to be completed on 30 November 2025.
