The historic monastery of Hosios Loukas in Boeotia is on fire. More specifically, according to TV Star, the fire in its wake completely burned the grounds of the historic monastery.
The first flames broke out inside the Monastery, burning one of the oldest buildings. Fortunately, the monastery was evacuated of visitors and monks in time.
At the same time, the Metropolitan of Thebes of Levadeia and Avlidos, Georgios, is fighting the flames while crying. It is noted that UNESCO protects the monastery while the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, is also at the site.
