Within the next ten years, offshore wind farms as described in the relevant national plan will be a very important factor in electricity production in Greece, asserted Environment and Energy Minister Theodoros Skylakakis on Thursday.
He was addressing an online event of the exhibition “Renewable Energy Tech” in Thessaloniki.
Skylakakis added that these parks could contribute to the transformation of Greece from a deeply energy-dependent country to a more independent, but also more exporting, country. He added that the great advantage of the very high wind potential in the Aegean Sea is that parks of this kind can operate many hours throughout the year.
