Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece’s steadfast stance in negotiations with Turkey, emphasising that the country’s red lines are clearly defined and non-negotiable. In an interview with Skai TV today, Mitsotakis highlighted the importance of maintaining open channels of communication with Turkey while adhering to Greece’s national interests.

Mitsotakis acknowledged positive developments in bilateral relations, including a reduction in Aegean violations and improved cooperation on migration issues. However, he stressed that Greece’s foreign policy remains consistent, grounded in confidence, and supported by a robust military presence.

Addressing concerns about marine parks, Mitsotakis emphasised Greece’s commitment to environmental protection and sovereignty. He reiterated that Greece approaches discussions on marine parks with a firm national stance aimed at safeguarding its marine ecosystem.

On the topic of the Prespa Agreement with North Macedonia, Mitsotakis warned against any deviations from its implementation, underscoring the potential consequences for bilateral relations and North Macedonia’s European aspirations.

Turning to domestic politics, Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of political stability, particularly amid geopolitical challenges. He expressed his determination to uphold the legitimacy of his government and achieve electoral success in future elections.

Responding to speculation about a reshuffle, Mitsotakis indicated his preference for stability in government structure. Regarding future parliamentary elections, he maintained a pragmatic stance, focusing on fulfilling the current four-year term.

When asked about potential roles in the European Union, Mitsotakis reiterated his commitment to representing Greece’s interests in Europe, downplaying personal aspirations for European positions. He emphasised that his priority remains serving Greece’s interests at home and abroad.
