“Lower than normal temperatures for the season will continue to the middle of the month,” he said, adding that some local phenomena will take place to the middle of next week, but they will not be intense. Toward the end of the first half of the month, the weather will become obviously warmer and there may be more phenomena from weather systems originating in the west.

According to the meteor.gr service of the National Observatory of Athens, Greece recorded some very low temperatures on Saturday morning, with the lowest registered at the village of Seli or Kato Vermio (-09.8C), in Macedonia.

Sunday is expected to be overcast wtih light rain, as well as gale-force winds locally in the Aegean, and snow on Mt. Parnitha in Athens and elsewhere (mountains of central Greece, Evia, and Crete).
