The countdown has begun. The former Hilton Athens, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, is preparing to return under a new name: THE ILISIAN. On January 1st, 2026, the historic building will reopen its doors, hosting the Conrad Athens, the first hotel of the prestigious brand in Greece, alongside the luxurious Conrad Residences and Waldorf Astoria Residences.
A multidimensional ecosystem
The new complex will be much more than a hotel. It will transform into a vibrant ecosystem of multiple uses and experiences, bringing together:
- Fine dining and gastronomy,
- Cultural and entertainment venues,
- Wellness and spa facilities,
- Premium shopping experiences.
Already, the House of Nynn has opened within the building — a modern members’ club designed for social and professional gatherings, dining, and leisure, including billiards for moments of relaxation.
A strategic investment for Greece
The rebirth of Hilton as THE ILISIAN represents an investment exceeding €340 million, while its total economic impact is expected to reach €1.25 billion within its first five years of operation. At the same time, it will create up to 800 new jobs, three times more than in its previous hotel operation.
Conrad Athens: A new era of hospitality
The Conrad Athens will feature 307 rooms and suites, each offering breathtaking views of the city, including an exclusive 400 sq.m. mega suite for the ultimate luxury experience. On the upper floors, 18 Conrad Residences and 37 Waldorf Astoria Residences will provide unmatched privacy and lifestyle opportunities at an international standard.
A new cultural and tourism landmark
Located in the heart of Athens, next to the National Garden and with a panoramic view of the Acropolis, THE ILISIAN aspires to become not just a hub of luxury hospitality, but also a cultural beacon for 21st-century Athens.
