At approximately 11:00 AM, a 4.8 Richter earthquake was detected 25 kilometers south-southwest of Arkesini, Amorgos. This measurement was subsequently revised to 4.9 Richter. The tremor was one of several in the area, following earlier quakes of 4.6 and 4.1 Richter at 10:36 AM and 10:56 AM, respectively.
