During their meeting at the Paris AI Summit, Macron made it clear that preventing the sale of the Meteor air-to-air missiles was not feasible. The deal, he explained, involves the six-country European consortium MBDA, which includes the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Sweden, meaning it falls beyond France’s control, as reported by daily EFSYN.
The issue has drawn attention in Greece, given its deepening defense ties with France. Since 2021, Athens has procured 24 Rafale fighter jets, each equipped with Meteor missiles.

During the meeting they discussed the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the need for a humanitarian pause in order to restore a continuous flow of aid to Gaza. They also discussed a proposal to open a humanitarian corridor by sea, while recognising the operational difficulties of such an endeavour.
Macron is also scheduled to meet bilaterally on Tuesday morning in Lithuania with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They will discuss the issue of Sweden's membership application to NATO.
