Seed bombings, a living "sculpture" made of mushrooms, thermopolitics, a wild garden on Mars, the weather cycle in the world of the Maori, alpine glaciers, corals bathed in blue light, pollen, the water of the Aztecs, the sound of the oceans, are just some of the phenomena that visitors will view.

What kind of climate do we want to live in? If people can affect the climate, can weather be a human construct? These and other questions are addressed by the exhibition “Weather Engines” that opens at the Onassis Stegi building and the National Observatory of Athens on April 1 and will run until May 15. During that time, the climate and weather will take centre stage through lectures, discussions, workshops, performances and a major art exhibition that includes audio and video installations, sculpture, films, 3D printed objects that focus on the climate crisis and the need to cope with extreme weather phenomena.

Visitors according to amna, will be asked to ponder the poetics, politics and technology of the environment, with many acclaimed and also emerging Greek and foreign artists presenting their works, many for the first time, in the exhibition curated by Daphne Dragona and Jussi Parikka.

Through the exhibition, the talks and other events, “Weather Engines” approaches weather and climate as a complex system, raising the need for climate justice and for the human world to embrace these aspects. Artists participating in the exhibition include:
