Northern Greece get the first snow of the year in the mountainous

The village of Nymfayo was covered in snow and is a small mountain community designated as a “Protected Traditional Village” since 1978. Travel guides list it as one of Europe’s ten most beautiful villages.
In a worldwide competition, UNESCO won the Melina Mercouri International Prize for excellent management of cultural heritage and the natural environment. The settlement has a permanent population of 132 inhabitants.
The drop in temperature brought the first snow to areas such as Florina, Grevena, Metsovo and Trikala. Light snow fell tonight on Parnif, and this is almost Athens.
In Pertouli Trikala, the temperature dropped to -3 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, November 28, clouds are forecast throughout the country. Precipitation is mainly in the central and eastern parts of the mainland and the east Aegean Sea, where storms will pass in the Dodecanese.
The wind will blow east-northeast with a force of 4 to 6 on the Beaufort scale and in the southeast of the Dodecanese from 4 to 5 on the Beaufort scale.
The temperature will drop mainly in the north, where it will not exceed 13 degrees Celsius.
Snowfalls are predicted in the mountainous regions of western Macedonia, Epirus and Thessaly, central Greece.
