PM Mitsotakis: Loss of pilot highlights difficulty of Air Force pilots’ task and their devotion to duty

Mitsotakis said that the Air Force and "all of us" were mourning a proud Greek officer, who fell "while on a mission of the sort that does not stop at any time of the year," while stressing that the state will remain at the side of the pilot's family.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in a message on social media on Wednesday, offered his sincere condolences to the family of air force officer Epaminondas Kosteas, who was killed in the line of duty during a training flight that crashed on Wednesday morning.

Mitsotakis said that the Air Force and “all of us” were mourning a proud Greek officer, who fell “while on a mission of the sort that does not stop at any time of the year,” while stressing that the state will remain at the side of the pilot’s family. “This loss highlights difficulty of our pilots’ task and how great is their devotion to duty. The country will always be grateful to the squadron leader, staying at the side of his family, to which I also offer my sincere condolences,” he said.
