Greek Education Ministry Announces Hiring of Over 2,500 Teachers for 2024 School Year

In a significant move to bolster the education sector, the Greek Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports has announced the hiring of 2,538 teachers for the upcoming school year. This recruitment drive, which concluded recently, includes positions in both primary and secondary schools, with a notable emphasis on special education.

Of the total hires, 816 teachers will be dedicated to special education, ensuring enhanced support for students with special needs across primary and secondary levels. Additionally, 1,722 teachers will be assigned to general curriculum roles in secondary schools. Among these, 102 teachers will be posted specifically at music schools, highlighting the ministry’s commitment to arts education.

The Ministry of Education has stated that appointees will soon receive information regarding the dates for their swearing-in ceremonies and the commencement of their duties. This strategic hiring is expected to address various educational needs and improve the overall quality of education in Greece.
