Very high risk of fire in several regions of Greece on Monday, including Attica

There is a very high risk of fire (Category 4) in the regions of Attica and Crete on Saturday, as well as regional units in the Cyclades islands, the North Aegean, the island of Evia and the region unit of Lakonia, according to the Fire Risk Map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. More specifically, Category 4 risk is reported in:

• All the Attica Regionn (including the island of Kythera)
• All the Crete Region
• The Regional Unit of Evia (Central Greece)
• The Regional Unit of Lakonia (Peloponnese)
• The Regional Units of Chios, Samos and Ikaria (North Aegean)
• The Regional Units of the Cyclades islands (South Aegean).

This follows an Extreme Fire Risk-State of Alert (Category 5) forecast in Attica, Crete, Kythera, Evia, Lakonia and parts of the North Aegean on Sunday.
