MyStreet App: A Digital Leap for Public Spaces in Greece
The new platform under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis empowers citizens to restore order in streets and squares

Today, at the Maximos Mansion, the MyStreet application was officially presented—a modern digital tool enabling citizens to actively participate in safeguarding legality and transparency in public spaces.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized: “Just like MyCoast brought order to our beaches, I am confident that MyStreet will bring order to our streets and squares.”

Collaboration Between Municipalities and Citizens

The Prime Minister stressed that full functionality of the app requires the cooperation of all municipalities, integrating their data into the digital platform.

“Mayors who integrate the data and align with the majority of citizens demanding access to public spaces will benefit politically and organizationally,” he noted.

The MyStreet app allows citizens to:

  • Monitor public spaces in real time
  • Submit complaints about violations, such as exceeding outdoor seating limits or obstructing accessibility for persons with disabilities (PwD)
  • Use interactive maps showing shared spaces, EV charging stations, and safe assembly points

Soon, the app will also include parking spaces for PwD and locations of defibrillators.

Early Citizen Engagement

In just 20 days, the app has achieved:

  • 5,736 public space registrations from 60 municipalities
  • 9,381 downloads by citizens
  • 1,273 complaints submitted

Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou highlighted: “MyStreet organizes streets, sidewalks, and squares. It is a tool that restores legality and connects to all shared public spaces.”

Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis reported an increase in inspections and violations for outdoor seating, with 33,452 checks and 998 violations in the first half of 2025, compared to 31,391 checks and 743 violations during the same period in 2024.

Reclaiming Public Space

Minister of State Akis Skertsos stated: “Citizen pressure on municipal authorities is crucial to ensure a harmonious coexistence between pedestrians and business owners. Our goal is a public space that respects the most vulnerable citizens.”

President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) Lazaros Kyrizoglou added: “Public space must be reclaimed by society. The app serves everyone—mothers with strollers, the elderly, and citizens with disabilities.”

Mayor of Thessaloniki Stelios Angeloudis emphasized: “The app streamlines the detection of violations and equips the Municipal Police with all necessary data in minimal time.”

MyStreet represents a collaborative tool for the state, municipalities, and citizens to reclaim public spaces. By using the app, citizens become active participants in ensuring legality, while municipalities gain a powerful digital tool for organization and monitoring.

“The challenge is reclaiming public space for all, with respect for our most vulnerable citizens,” concluded Prime Minister Mitsotakis.
