During a dinner in honour of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Athens late on Feb. 20, Mitsotakis said it would be impossible for Greece to allow a gap in its defence system without making prompt replacement arrangements.
As reported by the news website, Athens wants to work with the United States to decommission its Russian-made weapons.
Also, both sides are preparing for a program to replace Russian weapons with U.S. weapons widely.
Earlier, the media reported that Greece was ready to transfer its Russian-made S-30 0 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine only if the United States deployed its Patriot anti-missile systems in the southern Greek island of Crete instead.
