(To sign up for the newsletter, click here.) SLE is also helping English learners to self-study with a dedicated in-app feature called Learning English, containing interactive and user-friendly self-study sets based on up-to-date stories. The feature allows students to learn without a teacher, wherever they are, whenever they wish.

The SQUID 2022 Teaching Challenge is aimed at supporting English teachers on their journey to start or excel at teaching English with authentic news. It is held on the occasion of the International Day of Education, which was established by a resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2018 in celebration of the role of education for peace and development. This year we will be observing the fourth International Day of Education, celebrated under the theme “Changing Course, Transforming Education.”

“This competition is SQUID’s latest initiative in the area of inspiring teachers to use interesting news articles in their teaching and an additional contribution to the growth of teachers” says Johan Othelius, founder and CEO.
