The three countries are working together to apply to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup Egypt’s Sports Ministry Spokesman Mohammed Fawzi told DMC Television, reported AFP.
A source in Greece’s Hellenic Football Federation confirmed that the three countries were holding discussions about the joint bid to host the World Cup.
As with the case in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the 2030 edition will be held in winter to avoid extreme temperatures if the three countries win the bid, The Times reported Thursday. If they did, this will be the second time for Arab countries to host the tournament.
FIFA, football’s governing body, will select a host for the 2030 world cup in 2024.
