The government will table a proposal to streamline wages of graduates of drama schools and dance schools by the end of this week, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told representatives of performing artists on Wednesday.

At a meeting in Maximos Mansion, Mitsotakis addressed issues of the sector that led to a series of public protests and job walkouts in recent weeks, including the wage differences for drama and dance school graduates that depends on whether they graduated before or after 2003.

The premier also followed up on a January 28 announcement about the founding of a School of Performing Arts, which is expected to launch in 2025. He had announced this following reactions against a presidential decree relating to the professional standing of performing arts school graduates. According to Mitsotakis, working groups are expected to provide a course plan for the School by end-March.
