He explained that these are gangs with a hierarchy, a plan and financing, which raise funds from parallel criminal activities.

Citizen Protection Minister Yiannis Economou, in an interview with SKAI TV late on Tuesday, spoke about fan violence and the file with the names of some 200 hooligans that he and Alternate Sports Minister Yiannis Vroutsis delivered to the Supreme Court chief prosecutor Georgia Adeilini.

“The 200 names of hooligans that were handed over to the Justice Department were the assessment of the authorities, based on persons from all groups … They are not limited to only one group or one colour,” Economou underlined and added: “The names included in the file were based on information we had from police departments. They are people that have concerned the authorities. They are names that have been linked to criminal behaviour relating to sports violence and conflicts but also other criminal behaviours, often with a background of sports violence but also involved in protection, drugs and weapons cases.”

He explained that these are gangs with a hierarchy, a plan and financing, which raise funds from parallel criminal activities. Referring to the attack on the 31-year-old policeman, who remains in hospital in a critical condition, he stressed that more arrests will be made.
