Greece again second, globally, in awarded ‘Blue Flags’ for 2022

Greece again came in second, globally, in terms of “Blue Flags”, with 581 beaches, 15 marinas and six sustainable maritime tourism operators achieving the coveted distinction.

Greece was among 53 countries worldwide surveyed in the specific voluntary awards program.

Verdant Halkidiki prefecture in northern Greece led the national list, with 96 “Blue Flags”, followed by the greater Athens area (Attica prefecture), Crete and Rhodes.
