Greek Authorities investigating cause of fires

Greek Authorities investigating cause of fires that started almost simultaneously in several regions.

According to local media reports, 65 fires started across Greece almost simultaneously, 15 of them in the Evros region and many of these fires also started in the region of Dadia, where authorities note that many immigrant smuggling routes go through to reach Greece from Turkey.

The EYP (Greece’s intelligence agency) is investigating the cause and starting point of the fires along with the Fire Brigade as it looks very suspicious in regards to both the location and timing.

In Dadia alone, over 75 000 Acres of forest has been burned, which paired with the fact that illegal immigration routes pass through the region, raises a lot of questions
