It is a concept of colossal proportions that has fascinated music-loving audiences of all ages around the world for about eighty years.

Tenor Mario Frangoulis, soprano Deborah Myers and countertenor Nikos Spanatis join forces with national broadcaster ERT’s symphony orchestra and choir in one of the greatest classical choir pieces of the 20th century. Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” will be staged at the open-air Herod Atticus Theater in an event in support of the Thyateira Greek Orthodox charity. For tickets, visit ticketservices.gr.

Carl Orff’s music, direct, with a disarming naivety, which however hides within it, a genius concept, paints in a wonderful way images and emotions through time. The influence of fate in people’s lives, the love of nature, love, wine and fun, inspire today in the same way they inspired the would-be monks of the Middle Ages to write these graceful verses.
