Strengthening Greek fishing to address the energy crisis

Direct redistribution of available resources from the existing Fisheries and Seas Operational Program (FMP)

A measure concerning the strengthening of the fishing sector due to the increased energy costs that exist as a consequence of the war in Ukraine is being implemented through the emergency procedure.

Specifically, in the context of the urgent need for immediate and timely support of the fishing sector and after the cooperation of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Giorgos Georgantas and the competent Deputy Minister, Mr. Simos Kedikoglou, an order was given to the competent management authority for the implementation of the immediate redistribution of available resources from the existing Fisheries and Seas Operational Program (FSP) 2014-2020.

The required procedures for issuing relevant invitations are expected to be issued by mid-December 2022 at the latest.
